The Name RESCUE WING Stand for: RESCUE: Response for Emergency Situations & Corps for Unpredictable Events, WING: Women Investing in New Goals and Services ABOUT RESCUE WING RESCUE WING is a Small International registered organization , Non-political, Non-religious working in partnership with both local and international partners tackling poverty cases , responding to emergencies and disasters of any kind , promoting reduction in sexual and gender- based violence , peace and justice and transforming conflict into opportunities for peace and development and human rights advocacy. The organization vision is to ‘See each HOME with Dignity and Safety’ and its mission is also to ‘Walking Shoulder by Shoulder with women , Young Girls and Children across the globe , protecting their rights and supporting them to reach their Dreams through Education Training Programs , livelihood program and psychosocial supports’.
Summary
Primary Education around kakuma refugee camp become hard to the finalists who are in preparation for national Exams. We are worried for the coming grade and most of them are unable to support themselves with education materials. Other contributing factors which are leading our girls to fail are the follow by, Lack of education materials and dignity kits (pads). Huge number of learners are not keen and concentrated to the exams preparation due to lack of support for education materials. Many children are engaged in labor work in evening in order to get materials, and attend the class morning. Others are taking care for their siblings so that their mothers can do domestic work to the neighbor in order to be paid. Many Families around kakuma refugee area are unable to provide the dignity kits to the girls due to lack of source of income. Women and young girls are using unwanted clothes for their safety. This led them to get a lot of pain and affection for diseases.
