The Charity Centre for Refugees was created in Chisinau in 1999. Since then it has helped hundreds of refugees, asylum-seekers and beneficiaries of humanitarian protection access housing, employment, education and int egrate into the Moldovan society through cultural activities, language courses and help with the naturalization process. Moldova receives normally under 90 asylum demands/year. The UNHCR expects 100.000 ukrainian refugees in Moldova by July 2022. The governement, city officials, international organizations and ordinary citizens are helping to the best of their ability but Moldova is a small and poor country and cannot cope on its own. We are adressing the crisis by providing food and hygiene packages, cash assistance, help with housing and employment and coordinating with the authorities to best adress the needs.
