Youths are faced with different challenges including drug abuse, early girl child marriages, education inequality and unemployment among others. As Kisa Foundation Uganda sought to establish vocational training activities as to equip youth as starting from our pupils of Kisa Primary School as most of them are orphans so they need to be equipped with skills to both help the school and the pupils themselves to earn a living even in Holidays and times of uncertain disasters like covid-19. The program allows Youths to learn, socialize, share concerns and ways of mitigating the challenges they face in their day-to-day life.
Youth Unemployment: Ugandan youths suffer a 13.3% of unemployment leaving majority of them not engaged in constructive work activities. This is likely going to increase if no plausible interventions are devised mitigate it. This has created idleness which has destabilized and disturbed their contribution to national development. Youth potential has therefore not been enriched. Kisa Foundation looks forward to offer a wide range of skills including though not limited to entrepreneurial and business skills, which will enable youths not only to create jobs but also maintain profitable margins. Human Rights Abuse: There are different accounts of human rights abuse against youths in Nansana such as rape and defilement.
