Summary

The project idea is focusing on mitigating the long term impacts of Covid 19 by protecting out of school Adolescents Girls and Young Women (AGYW) from the consequences of early marriage, early conception, sexual and domestic violence. The project will focus on; Empowering AGYW. Protecting AGYW from the adverse consequences of early motherhood and creation of young men on gender and masculinity. Our interventions will result into: Delayed age of marriage and first conception, reduced maternal and reproductive morbidity among AGYWs. In the long run, it is anticipated that; Girls will increasingly be aware of their rights, Girls will have the opportunity to develop solidarity with one another through peer groups and collective actions to avoid early marriages and will acquire vocational and life skills for self-sustenance.
